Steve began his banking career in 1984 with Southern National Bank (now BB&T). In 1987, he joined First Charlotte Bank as controller, and remained until they were purchased by RBC Centura Bank in 1993. He then spent five years with NationsBank (predecessor to Bank of America) in the finance division, some of that time working on the transition teams for acquired banks. In 1998, Steve became chief financial officer of The Scottish Bank, a new community bank in Charlotte. Steve joined Park Sterling Bank in May, 2006.
