Profile:
Fred began his 32-year banking career with NCNB National Bank of North Carolina (predecessor to Bank of America) in 1974. He served as a senior commercial lender and/or commercial manager in the Charlotte, Statesville, Gastonia, and Monroe markets during his 25 year career at Bank of America. Fred spent the last ten years of his career at Bank of America as a senior vice president and commercial banking officer on the Charlotte city office team. In July of 1999, Fred joined Centura Bank in Charlotte as a commercial banking officer and senior vice president. Fred spent 6 years at Centura including time with the Royal Bank of Canada after its acquisition of Centura. During his tenure at RBC Centura Fred was responsible for establishing and managing commercial banking relationships. In February of 2005, Fred joined First Charter Bank as a senior vice president becoming the manager of their correspondent banking group. In this role he had responsibilities for managing First Charter’s participation loan portfolio, as well as calling on community banks throughout North and South Carolina for establishing correspondent banking relationships. Fred joined the team at Park Sterling Bank in September 2006.
